Cozy Cashmere

I was pretty sure I’d be too late in posting about cashmere seeing as it’s now May, however England tends to have summer one day and then be gone by the next. Which means it’s always a good excuse to have loads and loads of scarves to wrap up warm on the days it suddenly turns cooler.

Over the weekend it had been beautiful, sunny, and warm, and now it’s turned to the weather we stereotypically associate with England- rain rain and more rain. And windy and cold. And rain. On days like that, I like nothing more than to be wrapped up in something warm and cozy and nothing fits that better than a lovely cashmere pashmina.

Everyone needs a bit of cashmere in his or her life. Whether it comes in the form of a warm jumper, a blanket at the ready when you’re curled up on the couch, or even a pair of socks (which are amazing- cashmere socks are a true indulgence!)

In my case, it’s a classic cashmere pashmina. I know, pashminas are a big cliché; everyone brings one with them when they travel “in case it gets chilly” and all that but they are truly wonderful.

I’ve always had a lot of scarves that have some amount of cashmere in them but for Christmas, my husband gave me a lovely classic, 100% heather grey cashmere scarf. It was the ideal gift- not something I would ever wind up buying for myself and as such, was thoughtful and most appreciated. I’ve wrapped up in it ever since and it’s perfect to pull out on the days when the weather decides to go cold and dreary; which just so happens to occur even now with it being almost summer.
