Holiday Highlights

I had such a lovely holiday away in the English countryside and by the seaside though I’ve hardly had time to get home, unpack, and do it all over again! I only had a matter of days before I was heading back to Canada to finally see my family and friends after a very long overdue visit.

However, first things first; it’s hard to sum up everything I did and saw and narrow down my favorite places (and way too many pictures to choose from!) so here are some of the highlights:

So many places so little time…

Beautiful cottages- I wouldn’t mind a pink house if it looked like this!

And a sidenote: Halfway through the year, I can tick off horseback riding from my New Year’s resolutions as I finally went when I was away!

Snow Day

DSC_0036

This past week in the U.K, everyone has been going a little mad over the amount of snow we’ve been getting. The “plummeting temperatures” (re: going down to minus one) and “inches” of snow have just about put the country to a standstill. I know for everyone here they aren’t used to it so for them, it is a lot, but being from Canada I do find it a bit humorous. After today it does seem like this is probably the most snow to have fallen here since I’ve known it. So why not embrace it?

It was definitely a snow day and my husband and I thought we would take a walk in the lovely snow. However, once we left and got outside our walk turned snowball fight to snowman making.

When we were finished, we came inside and had homemade hot chocolate (well I did anyway)
I had a couple of these  left over from Christmas (unfortunately, none of the fluffy marshmallows I made!) but nonetheless still good.

A good way to spend the day: outside in the fresh air and embracing the snow whilst we have it here.
